Editorial Policy

Enable Research is an independent research and analysis publication covering infrastructure, technology, energy, active travel and sustainability in Ireland. This Editorial Policy sets out the standards and principles that govern how we research, write, edit and publish content on this site.

Our Editorial Independence

Enable Research operates independently. Our editorial decisions are not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, commercial partners or any external organisation. We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage, and we do not allow third parties to dictate or approve our content before publication.

Research and Accuracy Standards

We are committed to publishing content that is accurate, evidence-based and properly researched. Our articles draw on primary sources including government publications, peer-reviewed research, official statistics, EU policy documents and reports from recognised research institutions. We aim to clearly distinguish between established fact, informed analysis and opinion.

Where we cite statistics or data, we endeavour to link to or identify the original source. We do not knowingly publish false or misleading information. If we become aware that information we have published is inaccurate, we will correct it promptly and transparently in accordance with our Corrections Policy.

Sources and Attribution

We identify our sources clearly wherever possible. We rely on authoritative sources including government departments, state agencies, academic institutions, the European Commission, the European Environment Agency, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Central Statistics Office and other recognised bodies. We do not treat press releases as primary evidence and we apply appropriate scrutiny to all source material.

Editorial Scope

Enable Research focuses on infrastructure, innovation, energy, active travel, sustainability and nature in Ireland. Our content is intended to inform, explain and analyse developments in these areas for a general educated readership. We do not publish content outside our editorial remit in exchange for payment or any other consideration.

Conflicts of Interest

We take conflicts of interest seriously. Where any contributor has a material connection to a subject they are writing about, this will be disclosed within the relevant article. We do not write about organisations or entities in which we have a financial interest without full disclosure.

Corrections and Updates

We correct errors promptly. Where a correction is made to a published article, we note the nature of the correction at the foot of the article. See our Corrections Policy for full details.
